Stucco Contractor - Richardson Stucco Repair Service With A Free Quote
As durable, versatile, and functional stucco (AKA portland cement plaster) is, it can and will eventually require some level of maintenance and general service work. The question of how often is quite subjective and depends on various factors (as you will soon find out below). The fact that you are on this page shows that you care and are being proactive about your home (or building).
Figuring out the right course of action can get tricky when dealing with a stucco wall or siding. First, you would need to determine if you actually have stucco or a variant (EIFS – External Insulation and Finishing Systems). Then to identify the level of repair or the right amount of work required for your situation.

Our Repair/Install Services
Know this, your stucco home (or building) is more structurally sound and architecturally beautiful than those that are not built with this durable material. However, as with anything in life, there is a certain level of upkeep required.
Too often, homeowners take the exterior and siding of their house for granted. There’s the tendency of thinking our homes will withstand infinite bouts of severe weather. No, regardless of the construction material type, no building can go too long without a bit of maintenance.
Below, you will find a subset of our EIFS and stucco services. If you do not see anything related to your situation, worry not. Most likely our team of specialists will be able to take care of it for you.

Inspection
This is a must. It is the gatekeeper to all harmful situations that your home could get tied down with. We recommend having your home exterior (plus your walls) inspected at least once a year. Our team of professionals has quite a keen eye in spotting and capturing potential issues before they become a large overhead for you. What would have been a minor repair job could turn into a costly project, so take the proactive approach and besides yourself, your wallet will also thank you.

Stucco Crack Repair & Patching
You can never take cracks too lightly because before you know it they not only expand but also bring along a sea of problems to your property. While cracks less than 1/8th inch are not an immediate cause for concern, anything wider requires repair work pronto. Leaving these cracks un-patched or without repairing for too long is simply going to result in either a major repair project or even a full replacement.

Stucco Siding
A home siding built with this versatile material is going to be more energy-efficient for you. Moreover, it doubles as an attractive finish. But as we mentioned previously, anything and everything will require a certain amount of maintenance work. Whether your siding is looking dull or you notice dirt, grime or even mold, then its time to call in the pros. Let us return your home exterior to its original, new, and beautiful look.

Stucco Wall
What's better than having the exterior constructed with plaster? Taking it to the interior of course! Whether you are looking to repair or install we can do it in a high-quality and efficient manner. If the installation is shoddy or poor you will never get to experience the joys of a stucco wall. Don't let that be you, call us for a free consultation. We will provide advice that is right and beneficial for your situation.

Signs Your Stucco (plaster, EIFS) Needs Repairs
Being one of the stronger materials in and around your home, stucco-constructed walls, siding, and exterior have a life span of well over a decade and more. Provided that they are built and maintained over the years in a quality manner. But like almost any construction material, plaster too can succumb to mother nature in the form of severe weather or even high humid conditions.
Then there are the occasional (and unfortunate) accidents that we have no control over. Suffice it to say, there are factors that require some repair work to be done at some point. Luckily for us, we can be proactive as there are signs we can look out for (whether you reside in Richardson or really anywhere in the lone star state of Texas). These are the yellow blinking lights that we want to tend to before they turn red.
Staining & Discoloration
While stucco is favored frequently for its ability to absorb moisture, you still do not want to see those dreaded stains (caused by water) on the inside or the outside. While the obvious sign is a stain, you also want to look out for white streaks and dark, colored blotches (red, green, brown, black). Keep an eye out especially around windows and doors.
-
Cause
Stains, in this case, are going to be caused by rain or some form of leakage.
-
Impact
Besides the glaring, unpleasant appearance, these stains are going to lead to much more serious problems if not taken care of in the near future. These stains indicate a possibility of rain being trapped inside your stucco walls which is going to lead to moisture (which you do not want, read on below to the third and final sign on why). Moisture, as you will see below, will result in major repair work.
-
Solution
This is not something you can DIY. Stains can be a tricky situation as the cause is not obvious. You will do yourself a favor by having a pro come out, inspect the situation, and provide the right solution.
Cracking of Plastering
Minor cracking is ok (in most cases). It’s the glaringly obvious ones that can be seen for afar that need to be addressed. Look out for cracks near doors, corners, and windows as these are the ones that will cause the most havoc in terms of repair.
-
Cause
While natural causes (i.e. severe weather, land shift) can definitely play a role in this, we have found quite a few times the cracks in stucco were caused by poor installation and coating work. This could mean a few things; either the mixing was not done correctly at the time of application or the application itself was done poorly.
-
Impact
Similar to staining, cracking is not going to look all that pleasing to the beholder's eye. Other (more serious) impacts are damage to the stucco paint and the overall building infrastructure, bugs entering your home as these cracks grow bigger.
-
Solution
The smaller cracks can definitely be done by anyone (with the help of guides and tutorials online). Cracks wider than 1/8 inches require special attention by specialists. Another important point to note, repair and patch jobs are fine if they are indeed appropriate for the situation at hand. Be wary in applying the right solution as with the bigger cracks water may have already made its way through at which point any type of repair is irrelevant. Seek a professional's help and advice anytime you have a lingering doubt as the wrong type of fix may end up costing you much more.
Moisture
The previous two signs more than likely lead up to this very last one. But in the case you did not experience those, always look out for this one. Regardless of what your walls or sidings are built with, moisture is never a good sign. Stucco is no different. Look for signs such as peeling, discoloring, and mold.
-
Cause
Water is the primary culprit here, but more specifically heavy rainfall that finds its way into your walls. Although to a lesser degree, high humid conditions also have this effect on stucco.
-
Impact
With moisture comes the eventual appearance of the dreaded mold and mildew. These are never good, especially for your health as they can cause skin and eye irritation, a clogged up nose, and even breathing issues. Besides your health, mold has a negative impact on your building's structural health as it will cause wood to rot in turn requiring added repair work.
-
Solution
Call a well-known and reputable stucco contractor. They will provide non-biased advice are will not be looking to make the biggest buck possible (by recommending a full re-install, though that could certainly be a possibility depending on the extent of damage).
